The introduction of this dynamic mixed-use destination to Washington, DC’s Southwest Waterfront created new excitement in an area that had been languishing for many years. The project included the re-opening of a previously closed public street, construction of new office and residential towers, and renovation of selected existing buildings to offer exciting new restaurants and retail venues. GHT provided MEP Engineering Design for the base buildings, as well as for the interior fit out of Class A office space for multiple DC Government agencies, including the Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs (DCRA) and the DC Permit Office customer service center. The space includes conference center, training rooms, two server/LAN rooms, and intermediate distribution frame (IDF) closets on each floor.
The project team is pursuing a certification level of Gold under the LEED for New Construction & Major Renovations™ rating system.
