Beginning in the early 2000s, St. John’s College High School
initiated several capital improvement projects to support its focus on
academic excellence and leadership development. GHT has provided MEP
engineering design for four phases of these improvements. The first
project was the construction of the Scaggs Center to provide new offices
for the President and the Alumni & Development department. Next was
the conversion of the former Brother’s Residence into The James V.
Kimsey Science and Technology Center. The high-tech classroom building
features five science labs and computer training facilities.
Recently, GHT also provided a master plan for campus utilities as the
initial phase of a campus-wide utility renovation program. The
feasibility study addressed improvements to a variety of buildings
including new systems, the addition of air conditioning, and replacement
of existing boilers with new high efficiency equipment. The design team
is currently working on a renovation of the cafeteria and library and
the 27th Street entrance.
