E*Trade’s Metro DC office is located in an 11-story office tower built over Arlington’s Ballston Mall. The fast-track tenant design, which included 80% exposed ceilings, was designed and constructed in six weeks. The space includes a 3,000 SF computer room with 120 tons of cooling, 100% redundancy, and a fire protection pre-action system.
A smoke evacuation system was provided for the six-story monumental stairway atrium that rises through the tenant floors. The HVAC system features variable air volume (VAV) air conditioning with separate systems for the data center and LAN rooms. A 1,500 KW stand-by generator serves these spaces as well as three floors of offices with personal computers.
